White Canvas Gallery presented a group exhibition of four young artists, featuring work themed on the concept of flight. Among them are a couple of recent bachelor degrees and two diplomas, one of whom is still pursuing her undergraduate studies; all from the Fine Arts programme of LASALLE College of The Arts, Singapore.

Hailing variously from the region, the artists present their fresh perspectives in palettes rich with colour. Their points of view are rendered with a whimsical and ironic hand, without straying into caricature.

The artists variously held a demonstration of bookbinding and a workshop on making flying machines, both of which garnered much interest and allowed the artists to interact with their audience to appreciate their work in a casual and immersive setting. In the case of the workshop, the participating children and their parents were endlessly entertained by the creations made of paper, sticks and glue that they crafted with their own hands.

You can preview the work in the online gallery of images, and also read more about the workshop on Facebook.
